We drove to Cape Tribulation for the day, which is near 2 1/2 hours from Cairns. To obtain to Cape Tribulation you necessitate to cross the Daintree River by ferrying. You are then free to drive around and make stops whenever you deficiency. Our first check was the lookout at Mt Alexander. The view was exciting.

From thither we wound our way around to the Daintree Discovery Nerve center which I thought would follow a mythical spot for the kids to explore. There is an audio guide so you can teach about everything in that location, which we utilised on and off during our base on balls. We then enjoyed dejeuner in the cafe.
The aerial walkway and boardwalks wind about the Discovery Centre and through the rainforest. At the back is a 23-meter high construction that takes you to the canopy and several viewing platforms.
Below are Gold Starlings, they fabricate the most surprising communal nests.
This may bet like an egg, but it is actually a Cassowary Plum tree, which is the favorite food of the Southern Cassowary.
After exploring the Discovery Centre we drove to the Jindalba Boardwalk, which is a quick 45-minute walk. That's where you can really incur out into the rainforest and take heed to the sounds of the native birds. If you engender lucky, as we did, you'll smirch a snake or two as well.

We then horde further north to the Mangrove Boardwalk which is just south of the main township. It's but a precise snub walk from the parking area, past the mangroves and out onto the beach, only it's lovely reasonable the same.

Daintree Ice cream Company
Away the time we were ready to leave it was mid-afternoon and we had a bit of a fight off to the ferrying and then to Port Douglas.
